When it comes to leveling up and improving your city in Guns of Glory, you will have to go through certain steps, such as choosing your talent points, or being crushed by a powerful player who had the urge to destroy your city. These are the kind of situations you hope to avoid and against which you can prepare yourself. Indeed, there are reflexes that you can integrate into your routine in the game to increase your chances of survival and your productivity without having to spend a lot of time on your screen or even spend real money. This article will therefore present you with some of these tips so that you can progress steadily and prevent your city from being destroyed right from the start.
Missions are important
As you progress through the tutorial, you will see at the bottom left of your screen several objectives that you are asked to complete. These objectives reward you generously and will greatly facilitate your progress in the game. These rewards include resource packs, items that speed up the construction of the city, extra workers, VIP items and many more. The extra workers are especially useful as they will allow you to build or upgrade 2 buildings at a time for a limited time, which is usually impossible.
Just above the mission icon you’ll also find your main quest, which consists of a series of tasks to complete to speed up the development of your city. By completing these quests, you’ll get acceleration items, resources and even gold.
Joining an Alliance
It is difficult to progress alone in this game. For this reason, as soon as you have access to the alliance menu, try to find one that is worth joining and submit your application. By joining an alliance, you will not only have the support of your comrades, but you will also be indirectly protected against enemies who, by spying on or attacking you, would risk reprisals from your allies.
Once you’ve found a good alliance and joined their ranks, remember to use your Alliance Teleportation Scroll to move your city to an area close to your comrades’ areas so that you can benefit from their protection and help.
Use your talent points with care
As with most conquest games, Guns of Glory features a leveling system that allows your avatar to become more powerful as you complete quests. Each time you gain a level, you also earn several talent points that you can invest in skill trees to earn various bonuses.
Before you go throwing your points around, remember that you can only get your points back by spending real money. Your choice is therefore almost irreversible. Talents are divided into the following categories:
War: Upgrades for your troops such as VP boosts, attack and defense and passive skills such as allowing your soldiers to survive their wounds and be treated in the hospital instead of dying in battle. Most of the skills you’ll see in this category allow you to improve specific units, and the best skills can of course only be obtained after unlocking the previous ones.
Economy: Includes many talents to improve resource production as well as the number of resources that can be obtained from different parts of the world map. In addition, there are many skills to speed up the construction of buildings. The most important skill in this tree is the ‘instant yield’ which gives you the equivalent of 5 hours of resources in an instant and fills the harvest gauge of all units collecting resources. This skill needs time to recharge, so you can only use it to a limited extent. It is not recommended that you invest in this skill tree, as the benefits you will get from it are similar to those you will get from playing on a regular basis.
Balance: As the name suggests, this skill tree offers a wide range of skills including hunting, producing, harvesting, attacking and defending. As a general rule, it’s best to invest your talent points in War and Balance. There’s a penchant for the former since by improving your troops you’ll be able to help your teammates when they are under attack. Also, you’ll have a better chance of succeeding in raiding enemies and attacking Red Guard camps.
Go hunting
Resources are usually produced at your base. However, you can speed up the process by taking a more active role in harvesting the most important materials. To do this, you will need to send your armies to collect resources in the vicinity of your city.
At the beginning of the game, they will be able to carry only a small amount of resources, but it’s harvesting these resources as you gain an advantage over your enemies.
If you are confident in your military skills, you can also send your troops to plunder nearby cities. Take a look at the world map and look for new player cities. These are usually casual players who don’t pay much attention to the game and are therefore, as far as you are concerned, easy targets. Make sure they don’t belong to an alliance, however, in which case you’ll be in trouble.
Don’t forget to collect your free items
Guns of Glory rewards your playing time in many ways, including giving you a gift for every day you spend in the game. By playing consistently, you’ll be able to reclaim this valuable reward, especially in the beginning. Don’t forget to visit the Tribal House frequently to collect various free bonuses on a regular basis. Be careful, as the time between drops will gradually increase.
These are just a few of the tips that will help you improve in Guns of Glory. Feel free to share your own tips in the comments to help those new to the game!
